Everyone heals at a various pace.Your new tattoo will take approximately 2 weeks to heal on the surface and at least 1-2 months to heal completely.
Make sure to wash your hands before and after you touch your new tattoo, as it is an open wound and is susceptible to infection.
The bandage should stay on for at least an 1-3 hours, after the time has passed remove bandage
Wash your hands then wash your tattoo gently(DO NOT SCRUB) with warm water and mild UNSCENTED SOAP. Pat dry with a clean towel. Make sure to discard the used bandage. DO NOT RE-BANDAGE!
After wash, work in a VERY small amount of Aquaphor into the skin. Less is always more,if the area appears too glossy then you have applied too much. Do not let the area dry out either but again put on just enough for the tattoo to breathe.
Apply Aquaphor 3 times a day for the next 3 days and then switch to an unscented lotion such a Lubriderm or Curel
During this time your tattoo will flake off tIny pieces of colored skin while it’s healing, DO NOT RUB, PICK OR SCRATCH!! Your tattoo will itch, you can slap it.
Make sure to wear loose fitting clothes, open sandals to help your tattoo heal properly.
FOR THE FIRST THREE WEEKS, NO:
Swimming or soaking in water ( baths,pools, saunas,hot tubs,jacuzzi)
Exposure to direct sunlight
Tanning beds
Avoid the sun at all cost during healing period, only after it is fully healed apply sunblock (85) to protect from the fading effects of radiation.
